Passion for Plants, Planet and People

My passion for art, plants, sustainability and holistic health has led me on a professional journey full of unique opportunities. I’ve spent 24 years weaving together my Design and Marketing career with a Wellness Coaching practice that emphasizes nutrition, herbal remedies, connection to nature and whole foods nutrition.

I discovered my love for plants while living in the Sonoran Desert and I’ve been studying plants of the Mountain West and Southwest ever since. I love wild-harvesting, growing medicinal plants and making a variety of herbal remedies and self-care products. I’m also passionate about saving pollinators. I’ve been trained as a bee guardian and my family cares for our backyard hive.

Marketing & Design

Most of my time is spent using the computer screen as a canvas, generating content and designs that have a positive impact on our society and our environment. My Marketing and Design career has allowed me to work on a variety of projects, including website design, logo development, service and educational program catalogs, a wide variety of print collateral, KickStarter and GoFundMe Campaigns, a wide variety of social media content, writing blogs, creating videos, social media advertising and managing email campaigns.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & INSPIRATIONS

I have 24 years of experience in Marketing, Graphic and Web Design, Social Media Content Management, Copywriting and Project Management. One of my first jobs was Marketing & Agent Assistant for my aunt’s real estate company. And thus began my career in graphic design and marketing at the ripe young age of 16. Much of what my aunt taught me about marketing and sales still serves as my foundational and guiding knowledge.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2002 with a double Bachelor’s Degree in Art Studio and Advertising, emphasis in Graphic Design and Creative Writing. I moved to Tucson, Arizona in the fall of 2003 and fell in love with the desert, and the amazing community of people in Tucson that have supported and encouraged me on my path of self-discovery.

In 2006, I traveled with a dear friend to Thailand and India. I stayed on a permaculture farm in Thailand and was inspired by the  sustainable practices of the farm. In India, I completed a 10-day Vipasana Meditation retreat and attended teachings given by H.H. The Dalai Lama at his temple in Dharmsala.

My travels inspired me to study yoga, meditation and permaculture. I completed a 200-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training program in 2008; a 250-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2008; and a 72-hour Permaculture Certification in 2009. During this time I worked at a massage and yoga studio as the Marketing & Design Manager.

In 2010, I completed a one-year Web Design and Developer Certification from the University of Arizona.

I moved to Boulder, CO in May of 2012 to study Clinical Herbalism, Nutrition and Flower Essence Therapy. From 2015-2017, I practiced Clinical Herbalism and Nutrition in a Functional Medicine Clinic, while also working as the clinic’s Marketing & Design Manager. From 2017-2020, I worked as the Social Media Content Manager at WishGarden Herbs.

I’m currently studying with Dr. Aviva Romm to earn a Certification in Herbal Medicine & Functional Nutrition for Women’s Health.
